My candle is tunneling, what do I do?

Sometimes on the first few burns of a candle, the candle will tunnel and the flame will become weak due to too much-melted wax. This happens because a candle burns hotter the further it burns due to the container.

If this happens, safely, extinguish the flame, then use a paper towel to soak up some of the liquid, and then relight.

What is the scoop on hemp soy wax?

100% soy wax candles tend to be unsightly and do not always smell strong. Blended waxes offer desired traits like greater “hot throw”.

Hemp soy blend wax is clean-burning, biodegradable, renewable, vegan, gluten-free, toxin-free, paraben-free, phthalate-free, and natural. It comes from renewable sources made it the USA. It is made from soy, coconut, organic hemp, and a small amount of food-grade paraffin wax. The entire blend utilizes only FDA-approved waxes.

Food-grade paraffin is added to enhance the performance of the wax and give an excellent hot throw. Scientific studies have proven paraffin wax to burn just as cleanly as soy, beeswax, or palm. This paraffin's highly refined food-grade nature puts it in the natural category. You can learn more about this study performed by the National Candle Association by clicking here.

How do I Upcycle?

Place the vessel in the freezer once your candle is finished and cooled. The wax will pull away from the sides. Remove the vessel once it is frozen and allow it to warm up to room temperature. The wax should now be cracked and can be removed more easily. A spoon (no sharp objects) is sometimes helpful. Once the wax is removed, wipe the vessel with alcohol to remove residual wax and wick stickers. There are other methods. However, this is the easiest and safest way to clean a vessel.

What size candle should I choose?

Typically, the wider the diameter of the candle, the larger the room a candle can handle. However, some scents are more potent than others which is why some of our candles only come in larger sizes.

Why do my wax melts have "frost"?

All-natural waxes are susceptible to unsightly features like frosting and pitting. While these characteristics may be unsightly, they do not affect the performance of the product.

Why does my candle wax turn darker?

All-natural waxes can turn darker due to adding certain fragrances, typically those with vanillin. This shows no additives were used in the wax to prohibit this from happening. While this may be unsightly, it does not affect the performance of the product.

Why is there "rust" in my tin?

Tins come with a coating on the inside. The coating can turn darker due to adding certain fragrances, typically those with vanillin. While this may be unsightly, it does not affect the performance of the product.

Why is there wax sticking to the vessel?

While we strive to make candles that perfectly burn to leave no residue, sometimes due to the size of the wick, there will be a slight amount of wax remaining. Our number one priority is safety. Increasing the size of wicks in some vessels, particularly tins, can cause the vessel to become too hot.
